Ki Muhammad se wafa to Hum tere hai.

“I did not create jinns and mankind except to worship Me”

(51:56)

Anyone who considers his life precious would be wise enough to fall in love with the Prophet of Allah, Muhammad Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam, for it is through him that Allah reveals the ayah which attaches a definite meaning to our existence. Loving Rasoolullah is an ibadah and we would fail to be true believers unless we love him more than our fathers, mothers, children and even ourselves.

‘Muhammad’, meaning the Praised one, is Al Mustafa, the chosen one by Allah to receive Divine Revelations, who was sent on the earth to establish the supremacy of Allah’s Laws and remove the darkness of falsehood. We, as muslims, have the responsibility to carry on the mission of our beloved Prophet . This responsibility will be fulfilled only when our hearts are filled with the kind of immense love for him that will lead to our loyalty towards him. Without loyalty, the love we claim to have for our Prophet becomes fake.

Ibn Hazm says, “Whoever seeks the pre eminence of the hereafter, wisdom of the life, the just purpose and the embodiment of morality and character, let him follow Muhammad, the Prophet of Allah.”

His name is the most common name in the world and the most frequently mentioned as well. The most beloved figure in the history of mankind, Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi wasallam is the embodiment of khuluq. In order to instill the deep love and loyalty for our Prophet , we must know his seerah, which is not just limited to his biography but is knowing the history of our religion.

The title of Al Ameen and As Sadiq that the Prophet Muhammad earned was because of the beautiful quality of being trustworthy and due to his extreme love for the truth where in no way he ever resorted to falsehood. From signing Hilful Fudul (Alliance for Charity), which was the outcome of his concerns and interest in welfare activities as he was disgusted with the unnecessary bloodshed, to skilfully averting a bloody civil war during the dispute of having the honor of placing the Hajarul Aswad, he acted as an arbiter among his people. Do we not relate to unnecessary bloodshed and violence, clashes and hatred everywhere, and how can our hearts not crave for solution ! It should be our love and loyalty that would compel us to resolve any dispute following his ways.

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allah, you have for you an excellent model (uswatun hasanah), for all who hope (to meet) Allah and the last day and remember Allah very much”

(33:21)

This ayah motivates the believers to accept our role model in the Prophet to have success in both the worlds and meet Allah in the last day. The loyalty to Rasoolullah teaches us the concept of Al wala wal bara (loyalty and disavowal for the sake of Allah).

Our love for Rasoolullah should get reflected in the we walk, the way we talk, the way we dress, the way we act, the words we chose, the manners we exhibit, the company we keep. That love and loyalty should manifest itself in every believer.

Knowing the love and loyalty that the sahabas had for Rasoolullah is essential for us as it helps us to follow their footsteps inorder to fill our hearts with the same intense emotions.

Muhammad bin Muslimah killed Ka’b bin Ashraf who attacked the honour of our Prophet with his derogatory verses. It was the loyalty of Muhammad bin Muslimah, Ubbad bin Bishr, Abu Naailah, Harith bin Aws and Abu Abs bin Jabr that they responded to the call of Rasoolullah when he said to his companions, ” Ka’b bin Ashraf has offended Allah and His Messenger, Who will rid me of him?” We have to put this incident as a light falling on our mirror which would give us a clear picture of our own loyalty to the Prophet . Shouldn’t it be
crystal clear that there should be no compromise in defending the honor of our Prophet, even at the cost of our lives?

During the second pledge of Aqabah, Baraa bin Marur took Prophet’s hand and said, ” I swear by the One who has sent you with the Truth, we shall certainly protect you as we do our families”. The muslims of Yathrib vowed to support Rasoolullah no matter how great the risks were.

Battle of Badr proved that real strength lies in the strength of faith, rather than the material resources. How a small army of 313 people, ill-equipped with arms and ammunition, fought valiantly with complete reliance in Allah’s help; defeated and humiliated the soldiers of kufr. It was a day of distinction. The battle was not fought for worldly gains but to make Tawheed triumph over kufr. The muslims fought against their fathers, brothers,
sons, uncles. And this was only possible because of the sahabas’ loyalty to the Prophet in defeating kufr. With loyalty comes Allah’s help.

Today we muslims need to analyze and look deep into our hearts to reply to ourselves honestly that how much risk are we ready to take to prove our loyalty to Rasoolullah ? Are we prepared to speak and act as per the demands of Islam on the face of satan’s forces wanting us to compromise our Deen under the sugar coating of secularism and liberalism? May Allah Subhanahu waTa’la make us loyal to His last Prophet ,make us ready to defend the honour; and sacrifice our lives for His Prophet.

Aameen
